LAWSUIT UPDATE: Business Groups Raise Concerns About California Worker’s COVID-19 Claim U.S. business groups are keeping a wary eye on a California lawsuit filed by an employee of Sees Candies Inc. alleging that her husband died of COVID-19 that she contracted at work. Before a December ruling allowing the wrongful death claim to proceed, the groups filed briefs with the court saying that the case could lead to an “never-ending chain” of liability allowing anyone who can trace infection back to a company’s employee could hold that company liable for damages.
