Business Litigation Update: Man Sues Psychic For False Promise To Remove Curse on His Marriage A California man has sued a self-proclaimed psychic for fraud, saying she falsely promised to remove a curse put on his marriage by a witch hired by his ex-girlfriend. In the lawsuit filed in Torrance Superior Court, Mauro Restrepo said Sophia Adams, who advertises her services as a psychic online, demanded a payment of more than $5,000 to help his marriage survive the “bad luck” placed upon it. In the lawsuit seeking $25,000 in damages for negligence, civil conspiracy and both intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, Restrepo said despite paying Adams an initial $1,000 deposit, she did nothing to help his marriage.
